Past Projects

The Oregon Racial Justice Institute was an intentional space for Pre-K - 12 educators to deepen their understanding of racial justice in the individual, the institutional, and the systemic with values of antiracism, capacity building, collaboration, humility, and love. The Racial Justice Institute ran from 2021-2023

The Survival Project was a 3 day overnight camping and outdoor education program for middle and high school students. Participants worked in small groups to complete obstacle course challenges, cook over a campfire, build trusting relationships, and develop confidence in themselves and their community. The Survival Project ran from 2008 through 2015.

 

Camp Kadia was an overnight summer program in which campers explored artistic interests, learned wilderness survival skills, discussed issues of justice, worked and played together while building supportive relationships with mentors and peers. Camp Kadia ran during the summer from 2006 through 2013. 

 

The Hallway Project was an alternative learning environment for those who struggle in the classroom setting. It is an individualized, project-based program that gives traditionally unsuccessful students the opportunity to recover missing credits by taking an active role in their educational process. The Hallway Project ran in several schools in New York City between 2005 and 2010.
